Trail of tears state park

Last weekend I went down to Trail of Tears State Park with Jen, her sister, and her two dogs. We did some hiking, camped out overnight, hiked again on the Sunday before heading home. The weather was really warm so only needed the inner for the tent and didn't even really need a sleeping bag. The park is named after the Trail of Tears, which was the name given to the force re-settlement of the native American Indians by the government, who decided it was legal to take the Indians land on the east of the Mississippe River and force the Indians to move to the west of the river. The bad thing about the weather was that the tics are out, the dogs got loads of them and I also got one, which I found on Tuesday. On the Saturday night we had a BBQ and some beers, the camp site was good, each place had their own picnic table and fire pit and was not too close to others. We got one of the disposal BBQ's and left it on the picnic table after we were finished, so at the end of the night we were wondering why there was still smoke coming from the coals, turned out iit wasn't the coals, the heat from the coals managed to char and start smouldering the picnic table through the foil, oops!
