Camping upgrade

Since the last post we have had a camping upgrade. After visiting Prophetstown State Park we started looking at travel trailers to replace our pop up.

After looking into it for a few weeks we found a travel trailer we like and decided to go for it. First of all we traded in the Ford Explorer for a Ford Expedition to get enough towing capacity to tow the trailer we wanted.

The weekend after we got the Expedition we went to Cincinnati, OH to pick up the new trailer. It is a 2010 Keystone Cougar 30BHS and it was perfect for what we needed. It has a bedroom at the front with a queen bed and bunk beds at the bed for Euan and a potential second. It has a separate bathroom and plenty of living space. The only downsides are that it is 33ft long and weighs so much I get 10 miles per gallon and I had to finance part of it on a 10 year loan so it better last well.

This past weekend we went camping at Arrow Rock State park. It was our first outing with the new camper and we were joined by Jen's parents and aunt and uncle. We had a good weekend with good weather and the new camper worked out well. Only problem we had was we forgot Euan's travel bed and on the first night he rolled of the trundle bed and got stuck between the bed and a cupboard. He was pretty upset but we eventually got him soothed and back to bed. Looking forward to getting out again.
