At the lake Jen's grandparents paid for a pontoon boat for the family to take out on the lake. We went out on the boat once while Eaun was napping, we were going to take him out but he was asleep everytime the boat was leaving the dock. We did some swimming in the lake around the boat dock, it was so warm it was like a bath. We had Euan out in the water but just for a little while. On the Saturday Jen's Grandad had got steaks for everyone and with Jen being vegetarian I got to have two steaks, good times. On the Sunday we went round by Mark Hopkins family's lake house and he took us out on his boat. That was Euan's first boat ride and I think he enjoyed it. Mark's boat was nice, 27ft long with two inboard motors, pretty fast.
The camping at Cuivre River was good. We arrived on the Friday night and were lucky enough to have a break in the weather to put up the camper as it rained a lot of Friday night. This turned out to be a good thing as the weather was cooler the rest of the weekend, which made the heat bearable. We went for a hike on the Saturday, it was only a couple of miles but while carrying Euan on my chest it was quite a workout. The hike and heat made me thirsty so the rest of the day we hung out with the others and drank some beer. I played my first game of beer frisbee at the weekend, which is a great easy game. We had two pieces of 5ft pvc pipe tapped into the ground about 20 feet apart with empty bottles on the top. There are two teams of two and the idea was to throw the frisbee and knock down the bottle, points were scored if the frisbee wasn't caught by the opposite team and if the bottle hit the ground. To make it harder you had to have a drink in one of your hands so you had to catch the frisbee and/or the bottle with one hand.
