Rollerblading to Thanksgiving

After our weekend in Tampa we took the new pop-up trailer out for a weekend to put it to the test in the cold weather. We had a good weekend, the campground was quiet and the heating in the camper worked well. The only hiccup was that we ran out of propane gas and had to go get a refill.

Jen took her rollerblades and used them for the first time in a few years. She hadn't used them since she had a bad accident a couple of years ago and the campground was the perfect place to get back into it. It was nice and quiet and the roads were flat. While she was rollerblading I had to walk with the dogs. So when we got back to St Louis I got myself a cheap pair of rollerblades and have been trying to get some practice in. It's not as easy as it looks, especially doing it for the first time at my age.

This last weekend we've had four days off including Saturday and Sunday for Thanksgiving. We went down to Versailles, MO for Thanksgiving dinner with Jen's Mum's side of the family. Eat and drank a lot and then travelled home to meet up with one of Jen's friends who was down from Michigan for the holiday. The rest of the weekend we've been taking it easy, doing a bit of hiking and starting to do some shopping for xmas. We had a little bit of snow today, which is our first of the season. Hopefully this means that our local ski slope will open on time, it is mostly made from machine made snow so needs the temperatures to stay low enough that the snow made doesn't melt.
