Last weekend Steve and I went to Las Vegas to met up with a few guys who were over for a stag weekend, the bachelor used to work in our Glasgow office many moons ago. We flew in early on the Friday afternoon and rented a car for the weekend. We drove up the strip to a place called the stratosphere that had thrill rides at the top of a tower about 400ft high. We managed to catch up with the rest of the party for Friday night and went to the Venetian, it had canals inside just like Venice with gondolas and the ceiling was painted and lit up to be a very realistic looking sky. On Saturday me and Steve walked all the way down the strip checking out all the different hotels. Very interesting but outside of the strip downtown Las Vegas isn't too nice. On Saturday night went out for drinks and had dinner at the Bellagio. Sunday we drove out to the Hoover Dam before returning the car and flying home. The dam was pretty impressive, at least I thought so as an engineer anyway.
